Obamanomics

PBS tried to host a debate on the "gas tax holiday" supported by Hillary and McCain... they couldn't find ONE SINGLE Economist to defend the idea. Obama, on the other hand, has said the idea is silly... something EVERY SINGLE Economist has defended.

The reason for this comment? Just another way in which two polished politicians are trying to find ways to play for votes, while Obama fights for what is right.

Agreed. There is nothing about this idea that isn't ill-advised. Even IF it were to work perfectly and lower prices by 18 cents, what kind of dent does that make in anyone's budget? Wheee... I have an extra 50 bucks for the summer! I'll go to Disneyworld! Asinine.

And to make matters worse for Hillary, she's standing by it. It reminds me of the whole "I was shot at while exiting a plane" debacle which she finally had to back off of. It might sound like a good idea to gain some votes, but it's going to catch up with her.

I agree with you both. The concept really makes no economic sense. It is another reason why I am frustrated with Mccain. I do not believe he has clue when it comes to economics. Just listening to him when he tries to talk about the economy frustrates me.
